Lost in the Library
A cozy, family-friendly browser mystery game. No violence, no danger, no scary stakes — just three book-loving characters who keep getting "lost" in libraries because they got absorbed in something fascinating, and you have to figure out where.
The premise
Gwyn, Amelia, and Otis are always disappearing somewhere with a book. Each case opens with a small clue — a sandwich going stale, a missed practice, a movie night abandoned — and asks you to follow the trail through three scenes (usually a kitchen or starting spot, a library lobby, and a specific section) until you can solve where they are and what book caught them.
What's inside
- 14 cases, each a small three-scene mystery
- Clickable clues, a notebook that fills as you play, and a librarian who offers three escalating hints if you get stuck
- A four-choice final deduction, a cozy ending, and a badge to collect
- Topics range from world atlases to hip-hop history, from cozy mysteries to children's nonfiction. Along the way you pick up real library skills — call numbers, catalog searches, shelf signs, microfilm, the difference between fiction rows and Dewey sections
Who It's For
Kids, families, librarians, anyone who finds the children's room calming. No reading age required beyond comfortable middle-grade — younger players can play alongside an adult. Each case takes about five to ten minutes.
How to play
Click clues. Read what you find. Open the notebook to review. Ask the librarian if you're stuck. When you think you know where the reader is — make your deduction. Solve all 14 cases at your own pace.
